1996-present University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, Assistant Professor, M.E. Rinker, Sr.,School of Building Construction, Teaching courses in Construction Materials, Statics, Strength of Materials, and Concrete & Formwork Design.

1988-1989 University of Florida, Gainesville, FL., Visiting Professor of Civil Engineering: Research and development in the area of chemical interactions between Florida aggregates and blended cements; Corrosion of steel in concrete containing blended cements and Florida aggregates; Utilization of blended cements and recycled concrete as aggregate. Instructor for undergraduate and graduate concrete materials courses.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

1989 - 1996 Applied Research Associates, Panama City, FL., Principal Engineer, Structural Materials Group: Principal investigator and project manager of programs in both the Structural Materials Branch and the Pavements Branch for Wright Laboratories and AFCESA at Tyndall AFB, Florida. The programs included: Expedient repair of concrete structures using high performance shotcrete; advanced composite materials for structural retrofit and infrastructure repair; rapid-repair materials systems for airfield pavements and methods of application; heat-resistant pavement materials; high-strength lightweight fiber-reinforced concrete; and durability of rapid-repair materials.

1985-1988 Lone Star Industries, Houston, TX., Sr. Vice President Research and Development: Project manager for polymer concrete composites and blended cement programs. Managed new product improvements and developed new market opportunities for blended cements.

1983-1985     Quazite Corporation, Houston, TX., Director of Research and Development: Manager and principal investigator for R&D of polymer concrete composite products for the construction, transportation, and electrical utility industries.

1978 -1983    Shell Development Company, Houston, TX. Senior Research Engineer: Responsibilities included materials science and engineering R&D, developing material systems and specifications for protection, repair, and rejuvenation of concrete support structures for Shell Oil Company.
